Both graduates from the University of Texas at Austin many years ago, my wife Jan and I decided in 1991 to move back to the Texas Hill Country in order to raise our two sons. Since then, life in Fredericksburg has been an exceptional experience. Living the Texas Hill Country lifestyle is a dream come true. Being in Fredericksburg allows us to enjoy the small town comforts of the quiet life while still having access to two big cities (not too close, within 2 hours drive).
This is an interesting place to live. The Texas Hill Country area has a rich and colorful history of indians and hardy german settlers. The strong German work ethic shows by the many well constucted historic Fredericksburg homes and tidy yards. This sentiment extends beyond the original community as newcomers appreciate this atmosphere and have continued the tradition of well cared for family home or investment real estate. Community involvement in our schools, charitable organizations and a strong commitment to the cultural arts have created an environment that is both nurturing and congenial as well as sophisticated and stimulating. Both our sons (currently ages 17 & 21) say that being raised in Fredericksburg has been an incredible blessing. They are both well prepared and eager to go out in the world and consider Fredericksburg to have been an idylic place to grow up.
Real estate was a natural choice as a profession for me because of my avid interest as an investor in the Fredericksburg and Texas Hill Country real estate market. Despite the recent downtrends in the National Real Estate market, Fredericksburg continues to draw the attention of investors and those considering a move to the mild weather and friendly nature of our town.
