Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park

If shopping in the vigorous and exciting Main Street shopping district is not your thing, you may choose to escape to Lady Bird Johnson golf Course.  Whether you choose a brief respite on the driving range or make a longer commitment to an entire round of golf, the challenging course will keep your attention.  Definitely a 'Hill Country' golf course, the terrain is varied and picturesque.  There are seven holes with water, wide open fairways and many tree shrouded alleys.  After driving across Live Oak Creek, past the driving range and up the curving entrance, you will find the handsome pro shop with a grill and locker rooms.  Golf car rental is available.

The Jeff Brauer-designed track plays around 6,400 yards from the tips and includes plenty of trees and water hazards that get in the way.  You'll notice the two par 5s on the front.  No. 3 is the signature, playing 523 yards and forcing a shot over a creek, and another over a bluff.  No. 5 is longer, a testy 578 yards from the back.

The most difficult rated hole is the No. 9, a 425-yard par 4, but the regulars compain more about the challenging 18th, an even longer par 4 that plays 450 yards from the tips.
