The Assurance of Home Insurance!
Some people think only of the cost of the downpayment when they first consider buying a home. However, there are a number of other things that contribute to the total cost of owning a home. One very important expense to keep in mind is homeowners’ insurance. Owning a house is a big investment and usually represents the bulk of savings for the owner. If your house were to be destroyed, how would you replace it? Not only is it in your best interest to have the assurance of insurance but most lenders require it.
When comparing rates for homeowners’ insurance, check with several different companies for quotes. There is also usually the option of bundling your insurance policies. Sometimes discounts are available if you use the same carrier for both auto and homeowners’ policies. To save money on insurance, you might also considert increasing your deductible.
