Jul 19, 2009This past weekend Fredericksburg showcased its German culture and historic charm through a two-day fun filled festival. The whole town was booked and sidewalks were filled with revelers enjoying the celebratory atmosphere. The 46 year old festival took place on the market square, Markplatz, which is located on Main street and right in the heart of the Historic District. Dancing attendees were treated to music from nine different bands on two stages. Traditional German food such as sauerkraut and wurst as well as a host of other delicious foods were served in plenitude. And then there was the beer, of course.
