A Bed and Breakfast in Fredericksburg ‘The Rest of the Story’

A Fredericksburg Texas Bed and Breakfast is a unique piece of Texas Hill Country real estate.  With over 325 B&Bs and guesthouses, there is a great variety in the services offered.  As an owner, you have an opportunity to share your hospitality at whatever level suits you best.  Some owners enjoy providing a hot breakfast while others (like ourselves) choose to provide only a continental breakfast.  Occasionally the owner will provide the guests with a coupon or certificate from a local restaurant for breakfast.  Luckily for us, the HEB grocery store in town makes amazing muffins and along with milk, orange juice and fresh fruit the breakfast has been a hit with guests.

My wife Jan tells me that when she goes down to get the cabin prepared for the next guests she usually goes straight for the guest book.  8 out of 10 guests normally leave an entry and it has been helpful in making sure things went well with their stay.  As the owner of the B&B, I want them to to have enjoyed the best of Fredericksburg Texas and hopefully they feel that our cabin was part of that experience.  As a REALTOR, I am hopeful that this positive association connected with their experience in the Texas Hill Country will help ‘spread the word’ and Fredericksburg will continue to grow as an active and vital community.

3/2004 - “This is a beautiful cabin, and wonderfully decorated.  It was a romantic step back in Fredericksburg history.  A great place to celebrate our 44th”.

10/2004 - “Love your Cabin.  We have been staying at different B&Bs in Fredericksburg and noticed this one many times.  Finally found out how to get to stay here.  We’ll be back, its all we had hoped for.  Saw a deer run through the yard and of course “Beep Beep” came to see us. (road runner) I grew up with a tub like this and it brought back many good memories.”

7/2005 - “Thank you for a wonderful place to spend the night.  We will remember this night forever”

9/2005 - “This was our 2nd trip to this cabin and it was wonderful.  We celebrated my husbands 47th birthday.  A wonderful place to truly relax and get away!  I am already looking forward to another visit.”

2/2006 - “Once again we loved our stay.  The cabin is always a wonderful get away.  We love the quiet and the fireplace is great!  We know we will be back again and soon! Thank you again for a wonderful weekend!”

11/2006 - “I knew I would love it here the second I walked into you cabin.  I loved everything about it, from the decor to linens and especially the fireplace.  We needed this quiet time together away from work and kids and we definitely got it here.  It’s nice being away from Main St. yet so close to it.  You have added a special touch here and was very much enjoyed. thank you”

6/2007 - “This experience of staying in the cabin was unforgettable.  We enjoyed every moment.  It was exactly what we have been looking for in a vacation, time away.  This being our last few minutes here, we have talked about how much we don’t want to leave.  The atmosphere inside and outside the cabin made for the perfect “getaway” for the four of us.  We will be suffering from cabin sickness, so we are going to return for sure!”

2/2008 - “We got engaged on the evening of February 1st.  The winding stairway was lined with alternating candles and red roses.  He proposed on the loft with a beautiful ring.  This whole weekend was perfect.  Thank you for the wonderful ‘Cabin in the Hills’ memory.  I will never forget this.  We’ll be back.”

3/2009 - “As a place to have a first weekend away as a couple, it could not have been any better!  The cabin is comfortable and makes you instantly feel at home.  The breakfast was great!  The tub and shower—- Awesome!  Couldn’t get enough!  May we say that this is the best place to stay and we will most definitely be back!”
