Texas Ranch Romping
Sep 22, 2009The hot dry spell of the Texas Hill Country has recently been broken by some very welcome rain over the last few weeks. Greatly appreciated were the 8-9 inches which fell on a very thirsty countryside. And with the refreshing rain as a catalyst, the resiliency of the native fauna and flora burst forth. It seemed like just overnight the fields flushed green and the trees stood taller; the deer grazed in open meadows and seeping creeks began to crawl with flowing rivulets. For myself, I spent all yesterday morning enjoying the renewal while bouncing around in a truck, swerving around trees and climbing up the creek sides of a 1,000 acre ranch.
This most recent listing in our office is a piece of real estate which might be considered a little piece of Heaven (figuratively speaking only). It is a Texas ranch and is located about 45 minutes north west of Fredericksburg Texas and has the varied terrain typical of the Texas Hill Country. Large enough to wander in for hours, the tract congers up all the mystique of the frontier. However, currently leased for cattle and with convenient tree shrouded car tracks there is enough domesticity to imagine building a home. There are views and creek beds, brushy fields and innumerable animal trails and during our preview many deer, roadrunners and even a bobcat showed up to claim title.
This privilege, and opportunities such as this, to share a moment with the wildness of the hills, is almost reason in itself to be in the real estate business.
But be prepared to hold on during the ride!
